Information Literacy: Discipline-Specific Programs

To schedule library instruction for a class, contact Liz Cashman, Head of Information Literacy and Instruction Services, at elizabeth.cashman@wne.edu or 413-782-1537.

Discipline based, in-depth workshops are available for all academic disciplines at Western New England University. These workshops can introduce and give students hands-on experience with scholarly and professional resources such as

  • discipline-specific databases
  • specialized reference sources
  • high-quality web resources used by scholars and professionals in the field

Applying the basic skills learned in the First Year Information Literacy Program, these workshops focus on information literacy specific to each academic area through an in-depth investigation of professional, scholarly digital and print sources for each discipline.
