Over the past few weeks, you may have noticed a strange device on the first floor. Well, the library’s new ScannX ScanCenter is now up and running!
The ScanCenter is an advanced scanner that supports several cool features. WNE students, faculty and staff can scan directly to their Microsoft 365 account. It also supports scanning to print, Google Drive, email, mobile device, and more.
Because the Scan Center is an overhead scanner, it holds the book open, and allows you to scan by flipping the pages. The scanner’s software corrects crooked pages, and can even remove your fingers if you needed to hold the book open. You can scan to a variety of formats, including PDF, JPEG, PNG and even MP3.
To get started scanning, simply place your book or document on the scanner (raise the cradle for books, and turn on the light if the pages are glossy) and follow the on-screen instructions. Ask a Librarian if you need help.
