Zotero
Zotero is a tool for organizing citations. You can add articles and websites to your Zotero library, and then use the Word or Google Docs plugins to add in-text citations and generate your works cited right in your paper. Zotero supports MLA, APA, IEE, and thousands of other citations styles.
Obsidian
Obsidian is highly customizable note-taking app. It allows you to create links between your notes, allowing you to see how different thoughts and ideas connect - think of it as like a personal Wikipedia. Obsidian can be adapted to suit however you like to take notes.
ResearchRabbit
ResearchRabbit (in the picture above) is a tool used to discover new research and put together literature reviews. You start by creating a collection of articles on a topic that interests you, and ResearchRabbit will recommend more articles based on similarity, authors, citations, or other algorithms. You can explore the connections between papers on a helpful graph interface.
Raindrop.io
Raindrop.io is a tool that let's you bookmark any information you come across on the web. You can sort bookmarks into collections and add tags to make searching easier. It also allows you to take notes and add highlighting. Raindrop.io makes it much easier to keep track of research you find on the web.
Connected Papers
Connected Papers is another tool for discovering new research. Enter the title, DOI or PubMed ID an article, and Connected Papers will show you a graph of similar article, with the most similar closest to the center of the graph.
Notion
Notion is another note taking app, this one focused around outlining and making lists. Notion can be used for creating wikis, tracking documentation, and project management, making it useful for long-term projects.
Quarto
Quarto is a publishing suite that supports R, Python, LaTex equations and more. It allows you to author scientific and technical documents and then export them as PDF or Word documents, HTML webpages, presentations, and more.
