Citing Within Presentations

When citing within PowerPoints or other presentations, journal articles should be cited using an abbreviated citation. The abbreviated citation includes only the first author (followed by et al, if there are multiple authors), journal title, year, volume, issue and page numbers. Do not include the article title or additional authors. This citation goes on the slide along with the paraphrase of the source.

Citations for all other source types, such as DI databases, books, websites and package inserts, are not abbreviated. This citation goes on the slide along with the paraphrase of the source.

All sources should be cited again at the end. DO NOT abbreviate this time.
